WHWR is seeking
a Chair of the Board of Trustees to lead this small, local, independent
Refuge and associated services - a successful, evolving charitable
organisation providing an essential service at the heart of the local
community. WHWR provides safe temporary accommodation and help and
support in the community to women and children who have experienced or
are living with domestic abuse.
The position offers a unique opportunity to provide continuing
leadership and guidance as our current Chair retires. If you have
leadership skills, trustee experience and knowledge of domestic abuse
or a related field and are looking to makea significant contribution to
the lives of women and children in our local community, this could be
the ideal role for you.
The role is voluntary although reasonable expenses can be reimbursed.
Board meetings are held every six weeks in the evenings and some
daytime meetings are also required.
We are an all female Board and staff providing services exclusively for
women and children. A suitable transition and probationery period will
be agreed with the successful candidate.
